The international pianist Dave Morecroft returns home for a one-off special lunchtime concert of his original material Sunday 7th April at Creative Innovation Centre, Taunton. Having toured the world with his jazz-based projects WorldService Project, FUUG and koma, visiting 22 countries and some of the world’s premiere jazz festivals, Morecroft will team up with local musicians Dave Roberts (bass) and Phil Horler (drums) for a special lunchtime journey through jazz, improvised music, funk and Latin. Based in Rome, Italy since 2018 but with family in Taunton and Minehead keeping his feet firmly in both countries, Morecroft’s original music combines hard-hitting grooves more associated with rock and funk with jazz and contemporary harmony and captivating anthemic themes. This original material will be mixed in with some familiar jazz favourites and standards.
