Handling over 8.6 million passengers annually, Bristol Airport is the third largest regional airport in England and the main airport serving Somerset, situated just 7 miles from the edge of the county.  With flights to over 125 direct destinations, the airport facilitates more than a million inbound visits to the South West each year, including over 200,000 to Somerset.  Global connections to the region are also facilitated through multiple-daily flights between Bristol Airport and major European hubs, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and Dublin.  £225 million has been invested in passenger facilities at the Airport since 2010.  Work has now begun on an updated Master Plan looking to the future to the mid-2040’s which will consider how best to meet growing demand for air travel to and from the South West and South Wales region.
