Job title: PE Teacher and Girls’ Games Lead Salary: MPS / UPS %TLR + Wells Allowance Reports to: The Head of the Prep School Prime function: The PE Teacher and Girls’ Games Lead works in conjunction with the Head of Prep School Sport to successfully lead and manage the Girls’ Sports Department; taking responsibility for all PE teaching and Girls Games; the suitability of the curriculum as stated in the Scheme of Work plus the health and safety implementation (knowledge of, for example, ‘Safe Practice in Physical Education’ would be expected) Strategic direction and development of the school Working with the Head of PS Sport to contribute to a strategic view for the school in its community and analyse and plan for its future needs and further development within the local, national and international context To work with the Head of PS Sport to prepare and submit an annual departmental development plan; Teaching and learning Providing an example of excellence as the leading classroom practitioner and inspiring and motivating other staff Working with the Head of PS Sport to secure and sustain high expectations and excellent practice in teaching and learning throughout the school, monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and standards of pupil’s achievement, and use benchmarks and set targets for improvement To maintain the quality of teaching and learning within the departmental area Alongside the Head of Prep School Sport complete and see through the process of curriculum development ensuring that it reflects the School's aims and meets the
