At Burrow Hill we make traditional ciders as well as Somerset Cider Brandy. Visit the farm and see the UK’s first commercial cider distillery, explore the orchards and wander amongst 170 year old vats.
Here at Godminster, we create award-winning Vintage Organic Cheddar to a 90-year-old recipe. Our shop is open seven days a week and we have cheese available to sample every day.
We are the only cheesemakers left in Cheddar and you can watch whilst we show you how we make a traditional cheddar.Say ‘Somerset’ and most people think of Cheddar cheese so it is fitting that the world’s oldest surviving makers of it should be based here. To go with it, we make the perfect accompaniment, cider. These are not the only treats to sample on a foodie tour of the County which could take in oysters from Exmoor, strawberries from Cheddar, Trout from the Quantocks and of course a Somerset Cream Tea.
