A sixteenth century barn lovingly converted in 2010 to provide an idyllic peaceful retreat. Nestled behind the owners Riverside Farmhouse on the southeast corner of Steart Marshes adjacent to the Parrett Trail, it is an ideal location for nature lovers and those wishing to explore the beautiful county do Somerset.

Quern Barn was converted by the current owners in 2010, retaining much of the original character and uncovering a “Quern stone” dating back to the 11th Century. The accommodation is cosy and of a premium standard, being consistently highly rated by over 200 guests and ranking it in the top 5 of over 600 cottages on the “managing agents” happiness survey reports .

Quern Barn offers the perfect location to explore the length and breadth of Somerset from the beautiful rolling hills such as the Quantocks, and Exmoor National Park, to the Coastal Path covering Brean to Minehead. After a day of exploring enjoy a rest in the hammocks in the top paddock and take in the view of the estuary, the Mendip hills and beyond.
The accommodation comprises of an open plan lounge /dining area with off set galley kitchen complete with everything you may need. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed, with a further bedroom providing twin beds and there is a wet room all with exposed ceiling timbers. A utility area is located in a neighbouring barn.
Externally there is a small enclosed garden/patio area with table and chairs and an adjacent parking space. Beyond this there is a wildlife Pond with a seated area to one end and there is a paddock which inclines up to a great viewing spot where the summerhouse is located. You are welcome to use these facilities.
As the Pond is unfenced Quern Barn is not suitable for children under 8, except for pre-crawling babies.
