In recent years Frome has become synonymous with the word “Independent”. Local retailers have reclaimed the streets of Frome providing a unique shopping experience. The cornerstone of this vibrant scene is St Catherine’s artisan quarter where you’ll find everything from gifts and vintage clothing to bespoke jewellery and modern arts and crafts studios. Heading down the hill to the Market Place and neighbouring streets you’ll find local produce, music and book stores and interior design retailers.

The Frome market scene is thriving with weekly markets on Wednesday and Saturday. On the first weekend of each month the town hosts Frome Vegan Market, followed by the award-winning Frome Farmer’s Market on each second Saturday. On the first Sunday of the month you’ll find the award-winning Frome Independent - fast becoming one of the UK’s most popular destination markets.
