The Curzon cinema has been at the centre of life in Clevedon, North Somerset, since 1912. One of the country’s oldest, continuously running cinemas: screening everything from blockbusters to classics and arthouse cinema, hosting live comedy and events in a beautiful heritage venue.

Opening its doors in 1912, only 5 days after the Titanic disaster, the Curzon is one of the country’s oldest, continuously running cinemas. Enlarged in the 1920s, the neo-classical building houses a 320-seater auditorium, panelled in a rare example of pressed tin; a bar; a 1930s Christie pipe organ and a unique collection of cinema equipment.

Alongside our varied film programme, we host live comedy, music and performance and are fully engaged with youth, arts and other community organisations, also running Front Room Cinema which takes the cinema experience out to residential homes.

We are supported by a fantastic team of volunteers, who support our Front of House staff, help in the bar, give guided tours and help to maintain our lovely building. Click here you’re interested in finding out about volunteering at the Curzon.
