Lorne House is a large Victorian villa in the lovely Wiltshire village of Box, just six miles from the city of Bath. We offer an elegant charm, gorgeous ensuite rooms and a very friendly, personal service. Lorne House provides an ideal base from which to explore Bath, the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and its many historic and beautiful local villages, including Lacock, Castle Combe, Bradford on Avon, Corsham and Avebury.

The childhood home of Thomas the Tank Engine author, Reverend W.V.Awdry, Lorne House has been furnished to a very high standard; all our rooms are en-suite, with either wet-rooms or bathrooms, and come equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, flat screen television, iron and ironing board. There is free wifi throughout the house. Our breakfasts are hearty and substantial, with fruit, cereals, toast, traditional cooked English breakfast or continental options, served in our lovely light and spacious dining room. We source as many of our foodstuffs locally where possible and the marmalade is home-made.  Guests have the choice of a comfy sitting room or a large outdoor verandah to relax and unwind.
