“Looking for somewhere really special to stay, look no further you have found it”, “I don’t think I have ever been made to feel so welcome”, are just some of our recent 5-star reviews. This historic hotel has been lovingly renovated with bedrooms individually designed for complete relaxation and comfort.

If you want to be spoilt, relax and eat delicious food visit Candy, Peter and their friendly, professional team whose mission to give every guest (and their dogs) the warmest of welcomes and most memorable stay.
The Old Vicarage is tucked away in peaceful surroundings overlooking St Mary’s Church, the only building in Bridgwater older than it, yet is only 10 minutes from the M5. The hotel is full of historic importance dating back to 1327; it is said that Isambard Kingdom Brunel designed the town bridge in the 17th century Oak Room and Judge Jeffery’s stayed, one of the bedrooms even has its own wig cabinet.

Each of the 18 en-suite bedrooms are individually designed and kept spotlessly clean with the most comfortable beds and views over the gardens or church.  The south facing gardens are glorious, perfect for weddings and enjoying in the sunshine.  On cooler evenings there is a cosy bar and snug with comfy sofas for enjoying a drink or two in front of the fire, an oak panelled restaurant and a brand new undercover patio with a pizza oven.

A short drive and you can be alone on the Quantock Hills walking in Coleridge’s footsteps, bird watching on the Somerset Levels or hunting for fossils on the Jurassic Coast at Kilve.  For the more energetic kayaking, coasteering, mountain biking, pony trekking are all on hand or if shopping is your thing Bristol, Bath, Taunton, Glastonbury and Wells are not far away.
