The Eastbury Hotel , Long Street, DT9 3BY, Sherborne
The Eastbury Hotel is a luxury Georgian country house hotel with lovely gardens and Seasons Two Rosette restaurant, set in the heart of the lively historic town of Sherborne, Dorset.
Pretty Sherborne’s medieval buildings, Georgian architecture, specialist shops, castles and commanding abbey stretch out before The Eastbury. There’s nowhere more winsome and restful for a short break away.
Respected hoteliers and entrepreneurs, Peter and Lana de Savary run this 26-bedroom Georgian-styled hotel whose façade has little changed since the 1920s when built as a gentleman’s residence. Beyond its town house exterior lies a Tardis interior that unfolds to reveal rooms of varying sizes and designs. The hotel was recently Awarded a Four Star by the AA Hotel Guide.
Some guest rooms are Georgian through-and-through, while others are contemporary in style. Individual touches include a freestanding bath discretely shielded by an antique screen, a vast mahogany sleigh bed and Asian-inspired sliding shoji doors.
Outside, The Eastbury’s peaceful walled garden is a calming oasis (the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and the morning papers). Lunch and dinner may be taken out here on the terrace Bistro; private dinner parties, weddings and parties too. Use of carefully chosen local produce, herbs and salad crops grown on-site, as well as honey from beehives in the garden have all contributed to the Two AA Rosettes the Seasons Restaurant now holds headed up by Executive Chef Matthew Street.
Particularly formative experiences were being a finalist in the 2009 Master Chef – The Professionals and as a 2009 Roux Scholarship Finalist.
As the name of our restaurant suggests, our menus reflect the changing seasons and Executive Chef Matthew and his team gather together the freshest and finest ingredients to create a tantalising variety of traditional dishes each with their own innovative twist.
The variety of menus include a seven-course tasting menu and thoughtful vegetarian menu.
In addition to breakfast, Seasons Restaurant offers three daily menus:
Lunch – House & À La Carte menus
Dinner – House, À La Carte & 7-course tasting menus
Wine flight can we paired with our tasting.
A traditional English Tea is served every afternoon in the Seasons Restaurant, overlooking the garden or on our garden terraces.
