Glastonbury Abbey is excited once again to be a finalist at the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism awards and a GOLD award winner in the South West in Bloom Business, Leisure and Tourism category.
The 2023 Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre has been recognised for another record-breaking year, receiving its third finalist shortlisting in the Event of the Year category following a silver in 2019 and a bronze in 2022.
The weekend-long event, which took place in April 2023, attracted more than 8,000 attendees. It featured an array of medieval-themed living history displays, market stalls, talks, have-a-go activities and shows, including the ever-popular joust.
Meanwhile, the abbey grounds and gardens have been awarded the prestigious GOLD Award in Business, Leisure and Tourism by South West In Bloom. The award celebrates the efforts of staff and volunteers in maintaining the abbey’s 36 acres of grounds, including the orchard and medieval herb and kitchen gardens, as well as its place within the community

The Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre will return on the 27th and 28th of April 2024 for its biggest year yet, with more stalls, more activities, and more fun for all the family in store. Discounted advance tickets are now on sale on the website.
The Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards celebrate local excellence in the tourism industry. The award winners for all categories will be announced at the 2023 Awards Ceremony, taking place at the Bristol Hotel on 30th November.
