Valley Fest, the best-tasting music festival in the South West, took place between 3rd- 6th of August 2023. The sold-out event saw big crowds flock to the edge of Chew Valley Lake for incredible music, food, talks, workshops and plenty of wholesome fun.

As well as big name acts from the likes The Kooks, Bananarama, Soul ll Soul, Scouting for Girls, the weekend showcased the region’s finest produce. Josh Eggleton was at the helm of the food programme. Festival goers could join feasts, watch cooking demonstrations, take part in masterclasses, watch BBQ competitions as well as eat an array of carefully-curated street food.

The Alchemist’s Playground was back for the second year. This is a collaboration between Valley Fest, Arcadia and The Woodland Tribe. By day, kids built their own stage from reclaimed materials. The baton passed at nightfall as the Afterburner stage fired up and it was playtime for the adults. Shows from the Lords of Lightning tesla coil show amazed the crowds, as did the boundary-pushing fire performances, which could be admired from the whole Chew Valley.

“So many people answered the call to Get on My Land! The weather didn’t get in the way of our fun, plus we’ve raised a lot of money for Teenage Cancer Trust. We can’t wait to do it all again for our tenth birthday!”

Now in its ninth year, Valley Fest is going from strength to strength. The award-winning, family friendly event is becoming a firm favourite in the Bristol and South West calendar. It’s also perfect for first-time festival goers.

Only nine miles from Bristol and edged by the rolling Mendip hills, Chew Valley Lake provides the sparkling backdrop, which, some say, give it ‘the best view of any UK festival.

Early bird tickets go on sale for next year on Friday 11th August. The festival dates are 1st – 4th August 2024
