As a unique Conference and Events venue nestled in the heart of Somerset, Cannington Court is a beautiful Grade 1 listed former 12th century Benedictine Nunnery. Artfully restored, with contemporary finishes, energy-efficient principles and advanced technology throughout, it offers the ideal venue for corporate events, meetings, training, team collaboration and more.

This historic building offers modern accommodation, contemporary dining and extensive meeting and event space, ideally located for those seeking a business event in relaxing surroundings. We are also the location for the interactive Hinkley Point Visitor Centre.

Our 50 modern en-suite bedrooms, all come with complimentary toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. We have accessible bedrooms, free Wi-Fi and relaxation areas to unwind in the evenings. 

We provide bistro and event dining options using seasonal local produce along with a full breakfast, lunch and dinner service. We have a bar area which provides you with somewhere to unwind in the evenings.  From gala dinners in historic Clifford Hall, to Christmas parties and smaller private functions, our events team will be delighted to discuss & deliver an amazing experience for you.

Cannington Court is a showcase for sustainability and an exemplar for Net Zero reducing running costs in the process. Onsite renewable energy and low-carbon heat solutions, Pod Point Charging Points, electric vehicle, courtesy shuttle service and a vehicle to grid (V2G) scheme are just some of the ways we are supporting this.

HINKLEY POINT VISITOR CENTRE
The centre highlights the importance of the energy mix and how Nuclear power plays an important part through a number of interactive displays. Visitors are encouraged to explore how electricity is created in a fun and immersive way and learn why there is an overwhelming need to produce low carbon energy.
