Emily, who lives at Worthy Farm with husband Nick and sons George and Noah, said: “I am honoured to have been asked to become an ambassador for ‘Visit Somerset’. Somerset has so much to offer for residents and visitors alike, and I am so proud to call it home.”
Emily was educated at Wells Cathedral School and had begun training as a school teacher before taking on the role of co-organising the Festival with her father from 2000.
She works very closely with the Festivals main charity beneficiaries - Wateraid, Oxfam and Greenpeace.
For example, she worked extensively with Oxfam on their ‘Make Trade Fair’ campaign which lead her to travel to Haiti with Chris Martin of Coldplay in order to highlight the damaging affect western corporations have on local coffee farmers.
She also travelled to Mozambique with her father in order to see first-hand how donations made by the Festival to WaterAid are benefiting the country.
