Somerset Council has declared a financial emergency and has published a list of intended cost savings which are important for the visitor economy - Consultation closes MONDAY.

Visitor economy businesses in the Somerset Council area are invited to respond to the planned cuts by Somerset Council which have been described as a "manifesto for the mutilation of joy" by the Chair of Visit Somerset (see https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/news/somerset-news/closing-somerset-tourist-offices-manifesto-9035220)

We need to state our case that whilst visitor economy is not statutory - it is essential for business and community in so many ways.
