Free Opportunity to publicise your business through Equality and Diversity
The Team from LGBT Travel Club and Visit Somerset, (from the 28th until 9th October) will be in Somerset planning and preparing for possibly the first UK County push, for Equality and Diversity, as both organisations encourage businesses to promote their 'Equality and Diversity', in an effort to attract and work with wider markets.

As part of the drive we will be creating a professionally made video montage, celebrating Somerset and Exmoor’s diversity in our Visitor Economy. We want as many of our members to get involved and let those communities know that they are all warmly welcome.

The placard brand we will be using.

If you would like to take part, and hold up our placard, whilst being recorded for the project, please just let us know at info@visitsomerset.co.uk and we will work on the planned schedule for the two weeks with your inclusion. If nothing else it’s a great way to get your brand out to a really exciting new audience and help to constructively plan for Somerset's future, for all.

"Disability is worth to the UK visitor economy £12 Billion annually and the LGBTQ+ market is worth £6 Billion annually to the UK. However, our attempts to engage and support these markets are woefully underrepresented by many businesses. Many feeling they've done their bit, if they have a wheelchair sign in a parking space". said John Turner CEO of Visit Somerset.

John went on to say; "We are continually frustrated by the lack of compassion, and respect. When we hear news stories in Devon, of a same sex couple being denied entry to a B&B due to their sexual orientation or family being told they couldn't visit a very famous attraction in Cornwall due to the families son, who had severe disabilities and his toiletry needs could not be catered for. This is just creating further barriers to supporting business sustainability and now recovery. We all need to broaden our horizons and drive the mission to welcome all."
