England Coast Path

Explore some of Somerset’s superb coast with a walk along part or all of the new 58-mile route that is the latest addition to the National Coast Path.

Try the first of our Secret Seawalks today - Minehead to Brean - click here for downloadable walk.

Try Walk 2 here - Doniford to East Quantoxhead.

Walk 3 is now available - Circular Walk to Dunster.

Try a Circular Walk around Kilve for walk 4.

Linking to the South West Path, the section opened in March 2016 takes walkers from Minehead on the edge of Exmoor to Brean Down at the end of one of the longest stretches of sandy beach in Europe.

The route offers glimpses of fascinating geology, views across the Bristol Channel and wonderful wildlife watching opportunities especially around the salt marshes and mudflats. Without the steep climbs of some other coastal stretches, this path is a pleasant meander along the shoreline.

Giving people a legal right to explore our coast, the England Coast path all around England should be ready after 2020 but in the meantime the majority of the Somerset section is ready for you to enjoy today.
