Somerset and Dorset Heritage Railway at Midsomer Norton Station

The Somerset and Dorset Railway Heritage Trust is based at the authentically restored Midsomer Norton Station part way up the gradient to the highest point of the old S&D. The restored railway appeals to the young for family days out, the more mature who remember the line with nostalgia and the true railway fan who finds much of interest in the rolling stock. More line extensions laid by volunteers over winter at the Station have resulted in another length of running line. This means that visitors will soon be able to travel almost up to the Chilcompton tunnel by train. The Stable Museum, wartime Pill Box, Signal Box, Greenhouse and Gardens have all been lovingly restored by Volunteers.
