Sheppy’s House of Cider Visitor Centre is nestled between Taunton and Wellington and is the beating heart of Somerset’s oldest family-owned cidermaking company.
Sheppy’s House of Cider Visitor Centre is nestled between Taunton and Wellington and is the beating heart of Somerset’s oldest family-owned cidermaking company. The Apple Bay Restaurant and Bar features artisan menus, the Sheppy’s Farm Shop encompasses a butcher’s counter and deli, and the shop itself stocks the entire award-winning range of Sheppy’s premium craft Somerset cider. It was in 1816 that David Sheppy’s ancestors picked and pressed the first batch of apples on their Somerset farm and the rest, as they say, is history. Two centuries later, the Sheppy family are still championing the same methods to make their cider that were used generations ago, balanced with the very best of modern technology. From apple to bottle, their Master of Cider David Sheppy is involved with every drop of cider that bears the Sheppy's name. Experience, instinct and knowledge are key to all of Sheppy’s award-winning ciders. JOIN US FOR A “BEHIND THE SCENES” TOUR AT SOMERSET’S OLDEST CIDERMAKERS… Visitors can join our weekend tours, where expert guides will offer a peek behind the scenes at one of the oldest family-owned cidermakers in the world. The guided tours include a visit to the orchards, the press house, the vat house and the Sheppy’s rural life museum, and culminates with a guided tasting of some of their favourite ciders.
