Where function ends: Responses to the Architecture of Sir Edwin Lutyens
To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944), Hestercombe Gallery presents new work by three artists that responds to the legacy of the man whose designs transformed the Hestercombe site.
For those who enjoy a quieter museum visit, including people living with autism or dementia, their families and carers. during our inclusive afternoons the museums are comfortably lit and audio distractions kept at a minimum. A new sensory station and quiet contemplation area will also be available.
Devised in conjunction with the Diocese of Bath and Wells, the break includes visiting local churches of Exmoor and Somerset on Saturday and Sunday and talks on the area and the work of the Diocese. The package includes Dinner, Bed and Breakfast accommodation and transport for the daily excursions, and a visit to a local Exmoor inn for Sunday lunch.
A residential 3 night Dinner Bed and Breakfast break with fantastic entertainment each evening from West Country band John Shillito’s Jazz Band who play traditional jazz in the New Orleans and Dixieland styles.
The speaker for the break is Bob Mizon, MBE,. FRAS, who is also an author and planetarium operator. Each night will include an excursion to an area within the Exmoor Dark Skies Reserve to see the stars, with talks from Bob about what can be seen.
