Hinkley Point Visitor Centre
At our new Hinkley Point Visitor Centre, visitors will be encouraged to explore how electricity is created in a fun and interactive way. People of all ages can learn why there is an overwhelming need to produce low carbon energy and how EDF are helping Britain achieve net zero through the construction of Hinkley Point C and the use of other renewable sources such as wind and solar power. Let us take you on a virtual tour of the construction site where you can interact with a map of site or just watch our drone footage as it navigates around Big Carl, the world largest crane!
Within the centre we have a model of the pressurised water reactor. You can find out how it works, as you interact with the touch and watch the internal workings light up. Split an atom of uranium to set in motion the chain reaction that provides the heat, to create the steam, to drive the worlds larges turbine. Have a go yourself! Blade the turbine using a touch sensitive display and release the steam to turn the turbine model. Try creating the right energy mix to achieve zero carbon emissions and 100% energy output so we all have the electricity we need.
Once you have finished your visit why not pop along to our brassage facility for some light refreshments.
Payment is contactless – no cash please.
Available parking is limited to 5 spaces – bay numbers 29 to 33. To respect our neighbours in the local community, we ask that our visitors do not park their cars on the roads around Cannington Court at any time.
