Ferne Animal Sanctuary is set in 72 acres of countryside on the Devon/Somerset border. Ferne takes in unwanted, abandoned and neglected animals and gives them a fantastic life either at the sanctuary or by finding them a special forever home.
There is a trail through the sanctuary where you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity: woodlands, wildlife ponds and meadows as well as stunning views of the Blackdown Hills. As well as the lovely scenery you may see some of the many animals that make their home here.
We offer trails, activities and events throughout the year – all the details are on our website. We open from 10-5 in the summer but close at dusk in the winter. We open 7 days a week and are only closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. We have a lovely café serving home cooked food and a gift shop to tempt you!
