How will coronavirus impact my travel to Taunton? 

In response to the current coronavirus outbreak, the UK government has advised against all unnecessary travel and has asked public to stop 'non-essential contact' for around 12 weeks from 16 March 2020. 

This means that many Taunton attractions and businesses have temporarily closed and events and conferences are postponed.

How to avoid getting sick 

To avoid the spread of the virus, make sure you: 

• wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds 

• use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available 

• cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze 

• put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards 

• try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
