Cheddar Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Description

Set in the rolling hills on the outskirts of the village Priddy, the highest in the Mendips, Cheddar Camping and Caravanning Club Site is an ideal base to explore the area or to enjoy walking, cycling, caving or rock climbing activities.  The site has beautiful views and is awarded 4 Pennant Award by the AA, so it’s no wonder it’s such a hit with members and non-members alike. Cheddar Club Site offers a range of pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents and tents including grass pitches and hardstandings with electricity. Jumbo pitches and non electric grass pitches. In addition, there are luxury self-catering 6 berth static holiday caravans. Open to members and non members alike.

Take advantage of the spotless facilities including an amenity block with hot showers, washbasins and toilets, a separate family shower room, laundry and dishwashing area. There are also disabled facilities.  There is a chemical disposal point and motorhome stop-off point (subject to pitch availability).  The site offers Wi-Fi access and BBQs and ice packs can be hired from reception. Dogs are welcome on-site and there are plenty of public footpaths nearby where they can be walked, including one directly opposite the site entrance.

The aroma of freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries will lead you straight to the on-site licensed shop, well-stocked with local produce including preserves, pork (including bacon and sausages), lamb, beef (including burgers), chicken, eggs, cheese, cider, ales, ice cream and bottled water.  There is also a farm butcher next door and in Priddy village, just ¾ mile from site, you’ll find a popular pub serving food and the Priddy Good Farm Shop which serves breakfast.  There is a Farmers’ Market held in Wells on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Priddy village also plays host to a popular folk festival in July as well as other events through the year.  The wider area offers plenty of pubs and restaurants as well as popular tourist attractions such as Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, Bristol Zoo, SS Great Britain and Longleat Safari Park. The site is just 40 minutes from Somerset’s sandy beaches including Brean, Burnham on Sea and Sand Bay.

Self-Catering Holiday Caravans

Cheddar has two self-catering caravans available for hire offering luxury and comfort whatever the weather!  These also offer a great solution when family and friends wish to stay near campers on-site.

The caravans sleep up to 6 people and provide a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.  The comfortable lounge includes freeview HD TV and BluRay DVD player.  The master bedroom also has a TV and ensuite facilities.  A BBQ can be provided on request and dogs are welcome too!  Please note there is a 3 night minimum stay.

We're open all Winter until 7th January.
