Fig Cottage is a light, airy cottage, tucked away in the pretty village of Holt. It is nestled in the grounds of a Grade II listed house, bordering The Courts National Trust gardens and open meadows. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, oven, hob and microwave. There’s also a fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. However, if you’d like someone else to do the hard work for you, stroll round the corner to one of our fantastic village pubs and cafes. Holt has award winning cuisine, delicious brunches, scrumptious cakes and an excellent cup of tea or coffee.
Fig Cottage has a spacious living area, with a comfy sofa, easy chair and double doors leading onto a private decked area. For dining and relaxation, there is also a pretty courtyard garden. Relax on the comfortable sofa or armchair indoors, watch the flat screen TV, listen to the stereo system or get stuck into a novel. There is fast WIFI, plus access to Netflix and other on demand TV.
The pretty, vintage style bedroom has a superbly comfortable King size bed, made by luxury bed makers Loaf. Sink into crisp white bed linen and a feather duvet at night. At Fig Cottage, we are more than happy to provide a cot for any infant visitors, plus there is a sofa bed in the living area, which can accommodate two children or one adult (two adults if you’re prepared to be a little cosy). There is a large, walk in rainfall shower in the bathroom and fluffy white cotton towels.
There are a wealth of activities in the local area. The world famous city of Bath is just a 20 minute drive away and Bradford-on-Avon is just five minutes by car. There you’ll find a wealth of independent shops, beautiful houses and churches, and miles of canal towpath to explore by bike, boat or foot. The Courts Gardens and Great Chalfield Manor (where Poldark was filmed) are both within walking distance, and Lacock Abbey, Dyrham Park, Iford Manor, Stourhead Gardens, Avebury Manor, Longleat and Bowood are all within easy reach. Bristol, with its aquarium, bustling waterfront and great shopping makes for a great day out too.
