It was built in 1794, the golden age of Bath's Georgian elegance, as a lodging house to provide accommodation for those coming to spend the season in this delightful city.
Over a number of years, the house has been carefully maintained and restored. The Kennard offers twelve recently refurbished and individually decorated bedrooms on five floors with a fine selection of superior doubles, standard doubles, snug doubles, two singles with shared bathroom, a twin and a triple room. Ten of the bedrooms are en-suite, with shower rooms, king or queen size bed. Our rooms offer either a view over our garden and of the city or look out onto the street. We also have a small sitting area and an honesty bar located on the landings.
Every room in the original house had a different use, which gives each room its own individual style and character.
We have two superior double bedrooms on the ground and first floor. These used to be the original large reception rooms of the Georgian townhouse, and both are at the front of the house, looking onto Henrietta Street.
The smaller rooms – our four standard and two snug doubles – tend to be over the garden side or on the third floor.
On the second floor we have a twin – with extra wide single beds – and a triple with one double and one single bed which is great for families.
We also have two single rooms with a shared shower room.
All our rooms our stocked with luxurious bathroom amenities from The White Company products, have free wireless internet access, smart TVs and tea trays with homemade biscuits.
The Kennard is located on Henrietta Street, a quiet residential street which is in easy walking distance from Bath Abbey, The Roman Baths, Pulteney Bridge, The Thermae Spa, Victoria Art Gallery, Holburne Museum and some of the best restaurants and shopping areas of the city.
