Tarr Farm is a beautiful inn dating from the 1600s based in the heart of the Exmoor National Park right by the historic Tarr Steps on the River Barle.

We’ve won numerous awards for our fantastic food. You can book a table in our cosy bar and feast on our hearty bar menu or enjoy our more formal restaurant with a full a la carte menu. If the weather is good, we have tables outside in our garden which overlooks Tarr Steps. Round it off with a stay in one of our comfortable rooms and take a seat for one of our delicious breakfasts in the morning. We are family friendly and also welcome your four legged friends too.

Each of the nine rooms at Tarr Farm Inn has been designed to provide every modern comfort. Fresh and contemporary, the bedrooms and bathrooms are generously proportioned and little luxuries such as organic bath products, power showers and full size baths, the fluffiest bathrobes and towels and Egyptian cotton sheets are included.

Our Rooms

Television, DVD players and iPod docking station with a radio allow you to really relax, while a pull-out desk, wi-fi broadband access and direct dial telephone makes working convenient. You’ll find all the facilities you’d expect – iron and ironing board, mini bar and tea and coffee making with fresh milk – plus some you might not, like the homemade biscuits, personal safes and basket of essentials you may have forgotten.
