Locksbrook Cemetery Lodge, Upper Bristol Rd, BA1 3DQ, Bath

Description

Surrounded by the lush greenery of one of Bath’s historic cemeteries, this beautiful and newly refurbished lodge house sleeps up to 10 guests in comfort and style.

Locksbrook Lodge

The Grade II listed building has been lovingly converted into a stunning four-bedroom holiday home with a generous well sheltered garden not overlooked by any neighbours. It is ideal for larger groups wishing to explore Bath and the surrounding area.

The lodge has a large and fully equipped kitchen including oven, hobs, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwashers and washer drier as well as utensils and dining sets for at least 10 people. A special wine cooler will keep your favourite bottles stored at just the right temperature.

Next to the kitchen is the living room with an expansive sofa, which can be extended into a double bed, and 43-in smart TV.

A master bedroom is on the ground floor with a king-size double bed and toilet and shower room next door.

Guests can exit into the paved garden through a door at the back of the house, where they’ll find a barbecue and table and chairs ready for some al fresco dining when the sun comes out.

Upstairs guests will find three more bedrooms, a second master bedroom boasting a super-king double bed, one room with two zip and link singles that can be joined to form super-king double bed, and one twin room with two single beds. A family bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet is also on the first floor.

The property has been elegantly refurbished in a classic contemporary style in keeping with the mid-19th century building’s heritage and Gothic architectural detail.

There is WiFi throughout the house and private off road parking for two cars. More parking can be arranged if you contact us in advance. There is CCTV monitoring the car park and the house.

Locksbrook Lodge is just 25 minutes’ walk along the River Avon from Bath’s historic centre making it a great Bath city break base.

Location description

The original cemetery entrance lodge, the property sits at the main entrance to Locksbrook Cemetery just off Upper Bristol Road – one of the main routes in and out of Bath. There are two clearly marked car parking spaces next to the building, outside the cemetery gates.

Despite being surrounded on three sides by the trees and greenery of the cemetery, with no immediate neighbours, Locksbrook Lodge is just 25 minutes’ walk from Bath’s historic heart where visitors will find all the city’s most famous sites.

The most attractive route into the city centre is along the River Avon riverside path but a 10-minute stroll along Upper Bristol Road will take you to Bath’s Royal Victoria Park. This is a magnificent green space of trees, ponds, open lawns and the Botanical Gardens, with the famous Royal Crescent at the other end. Above the park is Bath Approach Golf Course, an 18-hole course set right in the midst of the city.

Closer to home, Chelsea Road, a couple of minutes’ walk from the lodge, is a bustling local high street with a generous range of lovely welcoming cafes and stores for a great brunch and any essentials.

It is a 30-minute walk through the historic city centre to reach Bath Spa train and bus stations or a five-minute taxi journey.
