The Annual Country & Western Festival at Brean Sands

08 Oct 2019

There is under a week left to join in the fun across Brean at this year’s annual Country & Western Festival, where this year they have already celebrated the wedding of a couple who have visited Brean during festival fortnight for many years, and it is where they actually met! Their wedding took place at Brean Country Club this week.

Venues across the resort are open to the public throughout the day and evening offering a wide range of entertainment as visitors flock from across the country to be taken back to the time when cowboys and Indians ruled.

Don’t be surprised if you see horses travelling down the Coast Road, with their riders in full costume, or hear the sound of gun fire coming from our fast draw competition, held at 3pm every day to compete for the Custers’ Trophy, with the final to be held on 4th October.

You can expect to enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment which include daily line dancing lessons. At 1:45pm every day in the Tavern at Brean Leisure Park, the previous evening’s entertainment acts perform again, but if you are a night owl, up to and including 5th October, at 11pm each evening come along and enjoy a jamming session in the late night bar with Billy Levin & The Twang Daddies – don’t forget to bring your own instrument if you play.

Join in the Country & Western Disco and Karaoke, or if you would rather spectate, entertainment includes a range of top country and tribute acts. Fancy dress is always welcome, with themes that span the Hillbilly, Tombstone and Crinoline, Vicars and Tarts and American Trilogy eras.

There is a daily Happy Hour in the Marquee Bar between 4pm and 6pm, and food and drink is served throughout the day and evening.

Various stalls are also open throughout the day selling a wide range of fashion and memorabilia.
As well as entertainment at RJ’s and The Tavern, venues across Brean including The Beachcomber and The Seagull also have full programmes of entertainment available for the public to come along and enjoy as we join together to celebrate the finale weekend of this popular festival.
