Fleet Air Arm Museum, Christmas Concert under Concorde, Thursday 12th December and Friday 13th December 2024, 7pm
Enjoy festive tunes and classic songs under the wings of the sole British-built Concorde at the Christmas Concert at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. Due to the popularity of the event in previous years the museum is now offering two dates to offer a chance for those who couldn’t attend in previous years.
Tickets cost £20 per person, and are only valid for the night they are purchased for, tickets also include a mince pie and mulled wine on arrival, alongside tea or coffee during the interval. Elliott Bailey, Public Programming Manager at the Fleet Air Arm Museum said “Due to public demand we are delighted to offer two nights of Carols under Concorde this year. Guests will be able to start their Christmas celebrations with classic Christmas numbers by the HMS Heron Navy Volunteer Band.”

Fleet Air Arm Museum, Conservation In Action - Behind the Scenes Tour, Thursday 5th December 2024, 10:30am and 2pm
Join the Fleet Air Arm Museum for a special two hour tour diving into how and why the conservation team at the museum carry out their work on Europe’s largest collection of naval aircraft. Leading the tour is Principal Conservator of Naval Aircraft David Morris, with over 40 years experience, so visitors are in safe hands as they examine various aircraft in detail. For instance, visitors will get the chance to learn about the paint archaeology done on the Corsair KD431, Second World War fighter aircraft. Closing off the tour is a look at the work in progress on the unique project to rebuild what will be the sole Fairey Barracuda in the world.

Fleet Air Arm Museum, Society of Friends of the Fleet Air Arm Museum Saturday Talk, Saturday 7th December 2024, 11am to 12pm
A special talk from the Society of Friends of the Fleet Air Arm Museum will intrigue visitors with the rarely told story of fighter-bomber airstrips activated especially for the D-Day landings. Hosted by Marc Heighway, this talk will discuss the 23 landing grounds that were built stretching from Hampshire to Kent, with four in the New Forest and one on the Solent shoreline, that assisted with the largest amphibious invasion in history.

Fleet Air Arm Museum, Stargazing at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Friday 24th January and Saturday 25th January 2024, 5:15pm, 6:30pm and 7:45pm
Kicking off the year by looking up to the stars, this January visitors will be transported on a fascinating voyage of discovery, where they will be able to explore the planets in our solar system and the wider universe, as well as hearing news of the latest missions and discoveries in space.
Space Odyssey Planetarium is one of the world’s largest mobile planetarium domes offering a spectacular 360 degrees, 3D space experience. On both days there are three 40 minute sessions to choose from, the museum will also remain open from 5pm to 9pm to allow you to explore our galleries either side of your planetarium slot.
