Bishop to Open New Croquet Season at the Palace

23 May 2019

There’s probably not any finer backdrop to a croquet pitch anywhere in the country, and seeing the Palace Croquet Club in action is one of the highlights of a visit for foreign visitors to The Bishop’s Palace.
This year’s croquet season will be officially “teed off” on Thursday 23rd May by the Right Reverend Peter Hancock, Bishop of Bath and Wells at 2:30pm. Rumour has it that the Bishop is a secret croquet fan and will give the regulars a run for their money!

The Croquet Club play games on the pitch on Wednesday and Friday afternoons and the club is always keen to welcome new members.

President Guy Arnoux says “Anyone interested in finding out if the sport suits them is very welcome to come along for a free taster session”.  More information is available on the Palace website.
