The Dunster Tourism Forum (DTF) is pleased to announce the launch of ‘Wonderful Wednesdays’, on Wednesday 27th March.
Wonderful Wednesdays is a weekly marketing initiative to encourage more visitors to the village mid-week to enjoy special offers and discounts from the village’s wide range of high-quality independent traders and businesses. Visitors can not only have a great day out in the beautiful medieval village, but also take advantage of offers on fashion to art, homeware to crafts, gifts to garden goodies, lunches to lattes, paints to prints and even an overnight stay with dinner!
Changing regularly, the event launches with offers from 22 traders on Dunster Steep, the High Street, Church Street and West Street including pubs and hotels The Dunster Castle Hotel, The Luttrell Arms and The Yarn Market Hotel; homewares and garden accessories, gifts and card stores Homecoming, Horse and Crook, Hummingbird, Made in Dunster, Not Two Deer, Woolly and Wild and Dunster Living; coffee and tea rooms and cafes, Dunster Lunch Box, The Castle Coffee House, Chapel House Tea Room and Craft Shop, and Cobblestones Café and Bar; ladies clothing and accessories, RAFT ladies clothing boutique and Inspirations; art galleries The Ashleigh Bishop Fine Art Gallery and Maurice Bishop Gallery. Antique shop Chatelaine and fine jewellers The Crooked Window Gallery will also be participating. Other members include Exmoor Homes, Exmoor’s newest estate agency and The Oval holiday cottage. Shoppers can see the weekly offers on the Discover Dunster Facebook page.
Andy Rice, Chairman of the DTF says: “Everyone knows that retailers up and down the country have been tackling a triple whammy of increased business rates and staff costs, competition from online stores, and uncertainty surrounding Brexit. Dunster village is extremely popular with visitors for its charm and beauty, but it is not immune from these challenges. Wonderful Wednesdays is part of our active marketing programme to give visitors more reasons to spend time in our village. The response to the scheme so far on social media has been strong so we’re really hopeful that Wonderful Wednesdays will become a key day for locals and tourists alike to come to the village.”
Every day in Dunster is amazing, but only Wednesdays are Wonderful.
