On Monday 22nd July, wagamama opened the doors to its brand new, iconic restaurant at Clarks Village shopping outlet as demand continues to grow for their nourishing bowls locally. The opening of wagamama in Clarks Village marks wagamama’s most sustainable restaurant to date. The restaurant is on track be awarded GOLD award by SKA Rating, to be recognised for its sustainability credentials. 13 tables in the restaurant have been crafted from recycled chopsticks and all furniture made from 80%+ recycled or re-used materials.
As part of wagamama’s mission to spread positivity from bowl to soul, a philosophy rooted in the belief that food doesn’t just feed our bellies, but our souls too, the new Clarks Village restaurant will serve up classic guest favourites, amongst them the chicken katsu, ramens and iconic side dishes on their 50% plant-based menu. The restaurant also features wagamama’s new summer menu including, saku saku soba, with a choice of crispy shredded duck or crispy pulled shiitake. Crispy otsumami with a choice of beef, salmon or pulled shiitake, presented in six squares of fried rice, soaked in a soy and yuzu dressing, topped with smashed avocado, edamame and siracha mayo. Guests can expect to see new unique drinks, from sangrias to shiso mojitos, including a ‘pad thai sour’ cocktail – inspired by the flavour of the Thai stir fried favourite, pad Thai.
This month wagamama announced the launch of 'soul club', its first-ever loyalty programme, a unique platform where soul club members can redeem free menu items, exclusive content and engage with a new line up of ambassadors. By downloading the soul club app, guests kick off a journey to redeem mouth-watering sides and mains with a bowl of edamame claimable instantly. For every visit, guests receive a stamp in their digital stamp-book, inspired by the Japanese tradition of hanko stamps.
Located in Somerset’s popular outlet shopping village, the stylish new restaurant has been designed for 172 covers which includes 40 external covers. Open seven days a week, the new restaurant has created 60 new jobs, and will be wagamama’s 167th restaurant to open in the UK.

wagamama has been invested in supporting charities, campaigns and individuals in the mental health space for many years, the brand recently announced its new partnership with Shout, the UK’s first and only free 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone experiencing mental health struggles.
In line with its ongoing dedication to inclusive mental health initiatives, wagamama has made an initial donation of £40,000, which is equivalent to 4,000 text conversations facilitated by Shout volunteers. As well as this, wagamama is making an internal pledge to contribute 50,000 hours of volunteering to support Shout’s vital work, encouraging participation from across the business. With strong beliefs in the power of community and collective action, wagamama is also committing to support Shout in their goal to recruit and train 1,000 volunteers in 2024.
