Summer family activities at the Roman Baths, Fashion Museum and Victoria Art Gallery

10 Jul 2019

Families can look forward to a summer holiday crammed full of fun activities at the Roman Baths, Fashion Museum and Victoria Art Gallery.

At the Roman Baths, young visitors will be able to investigate Roman hairstyles, have a go at weaving or try on a Roman toga.

The Fashion Museum will have a range of crafty activities on offer – from making a miniature origami outfit to designing futuristic fashions.

At the Victoria Art Gallery, kids will be able to create a street scene inspired by those in the Gallery using a wax-resist technique, or produce a ‘junk portrait’ using mixed media.

In total there will be 20 different activities happening across the three museums, and all will be free for Bath & North East Somerset residents with a Discovery Card.

Councillor Paul Crossley, cabinet member for Community Services at Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “There is no reason for kids to be bored this summer as there’s so much going on in our museums, and everything is free for local families with a Discovery Card. I hope our younger residents will enjoy all of the creative activities on offer.”

Discovery Cards are available to Bath & North East Somerset residents at no cost, from any of the following locations:

Applicants must bring proof of ID such as a passport or photocard driving licence, and proof of residence such as a recent Council Tax or utility bill.

For more details please visit www.bathnes.gov.uk/discoverycard.

All activities included in the admission price (free for Discovery Card holders). Suitable for children aged 3+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
