Family Adventures Group was founded in 2019 by husband-and-wife duo Tom and Laura Filer, Family Adventures Group began with a vision to transform traditional indoor play.
 
Frustrated by the lack of clean, engaging, and parent-friendly play environments for their toddler, the Filers launched Ocean Adventurers, a premium indoor play venue in Cheddar that blends fun with educational value.
 
The company hires team members with high-end hospitality experience, ensuring that every interaction is smooth, welcoming, and professional.
 
They also train apprentices in hospitality qualifications, embedding a customer-first ethos throughout the business.
 
Guests benefit from a seamless customer service journey, supported by multiple feedback channels that operate even outside working hours.
 
This commitment has earned the company high praise and several accolades, including a Visit England Rose Award, an honour reserved for the top 1% of indoor leisure attractions, and back-to-back TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards in 2022 and 2023, placing Ocean Adventurers among the top 10% of visitor destinations worldwide.
