Garden trail with twelve stations dotted around the garden
Palladian bridge decorated with five gold rings, perfect for photos
Festive refreshments from the Tea Cabin
Prior Park Landscape Garden, a National Trust garden in Bath which is home to one of only four Palladian bridges in the world, will set the scene to a brand new trail this Christmas. Open weekends in December, and then daily during the Christmas holidays, visitors exploring the garden will be able to watch as the 12 Days of Christmas comes to life.
Inspired by the beloved Christmas carol, this trail will feature interpretations from each line of the 12 Days of Christmas. Visitors can brush up on their lyrics and prepare to see swans a swimming and lords a leaping; this family-favourite carol will offer magical interpretations that will enchant children and adults alike.
Take a wintery walk through the garden and fill your senses with crisp air, birdsong, and mist over the lakes. The Palladian bridge will be dressed for the occasion, ready for photo opportunities or simply to sit in the background as visitors enjoy their festive outing. The Tea Cabin will be stocked with mince pies and Christmas cake, along with hot chocolate.
Rachel Beaumont, Senior Visitor Experience Officer, said: “Our fantastic team of creative crafting volunteers have been working since early spring to bring this trail to life. There’s dress-up, dancing, leaping and lots of beautifully-created pieces to discover. We can’t wait to see what visitors think.”
The trail is free with standard admission. Running weekends only 30 November - 15 December, then every day of the Christmas holidays 21 December - 5 January (closed 24 and 25 December). Opening times 10am-4pm (last entry one hour before closing).
