Description
Recently refurbished, the Stables offers visitors an historic space to enjoy a delicious, home-made brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. It’s free to enter (no gardens admission required), whether you sit indoors within the warm and welcoming original stables, or outdoors in the stylish, light, glass-covered courtyard. Perfect for a birthday tea, a celebratory lunch, a special catch up with friends or just a casual brunch.
Enjoy full table service and a regularly-changing, unique menu that won’t disappoint. 
Brunch
Served daily from 10am-11.30am, our lazy brunch is a great way to start the day; with bottomless option at the weekends (NB full table must order).
Lunch
Lunch service takes place from 12pm – 2.30pm, with a range of options for meat and non-meat eaters. Head Chef Mathew Taylor’s menus are renowned for their generous portions, beautiful presentation and simple, home-made finger-licking comfort. Just make sure that you leave some room for dessert!
Afternoon tea
Nothing beats a sumptuous afternoon tea, especially in the stylish settings of the Stables. Great value, with plenty to go around, afternoon teas are available in both sweet and savoury options, and served between 12pm – 4.30pm.

Caffè + Gelato
Now located in the former Gift Shop, the chic and colourful Caffè + Gelato is open daily, offering a varied assortment of sweet and savoury lunch options, hot and cold drinks and delicious, locally-made gelato by Baboo.

About Hestercombe Gardens
Nestled at the foot of the Quantock Hills AONB, Hestercombe Gardens comprises of 50 acres of historic gardens, including the internationally-renowned Gertrude Jekyll and Sir Edwin Lutyens Formal Garden and Coplestone Warre Bampfylde’s magnificent Landscape Garden, complete with lakes, cascades, temples and incredible views.
Located within the historic house alongside the Book Shop and Gift Shop, Hestercombe Gallery presents a regularly-changing programme of contemporary art, and is well worth a visit before or after dining at The Stables (gardens admission required).
