For those who love to discover new creative happenings on their doorstep, the Somerset Art Weeks Festival is the perfect opportunity to get out and explore the local art scene. Over 100 exhibitions and events, including family-friendly workshops, are taking place across Somerset from 21st September to the 6th October

Each year in Autumn, the much-loved Somerset Art Weeks event comes along to brighten our county. It has been run every year since 1994 by local charity Somerset Art Works, and has become a treasured part of the Somerset calendar.

This year sees the return of the SAW Festival, where collaborative exhibitions and group shows spring up across the region, in this celebration of our county’s exciting creative voices. From the 21st September to the 6th October the instantly recognisable yellow road signs of Somerset Art Weeks will appear in every corner of the county, signalling people towards an exhibition or show to discover.

The chosen theme this year is Landscape: Flux and Flow. Exhibiting artists will be responding to this theme in a number of different ways within their work.

SAW has also provided vital opportunities and support to artists and makers to produce work on this theme during the Festival. This year’s SAW-sponsored projects include everything from immersive installations within the landscape to creative collaborations with a scientific laboratory.
