Miss Mapletree returns to The Grand Pier with A NEW Night Of Mystery!

England, 1952. A very faded star of vintage horror movies plans a comeback via a festival of his own pictures. Jonathan Brewster was something of a star his day, but his style of melodramatic horror has very much fallen from favour with the public who now prefer glitzy Hollywood movies. Jonathan decides to stage a festival of his biggest hits in the hope of rebuilding his brand. In collaboration with cinema-owning impresario Benjamin Lewy, he plans a month-long showing of numerous titles throughout England. After the moderately successful first night showing of Gravely Yours at the Pyramid Cinema, the audience de-camps to a celebratory dinner, hosted by the man himself. Jonathan, still dressed in his famous Dracula-esque costume arrives and takes his bows, graciously waving to his ‘adoring fans’. However, someone is missing; Jonathan’s wealthy young wife Julia Brewster is nowhere to be found. Fortunately mystery novelist and top sleuth Miss Mapletree is on hand to lead the investigation.
