The Quantock Hills Walking Festival

Description

Stowey Walking, the Walkers are Welcome steering group for Nether Stowey and Over Stowey, is pleased to announce the launch of its third weekend of walks this summer in and around the Quantock Hills and West Somerset coast.

This year’s walking festival will be bigger and better than ever with a variety of new walks venturing further into the Quantock Hills and surrounding area. We have nature rambles, history walks, high level hikes and even a family treasure hunt, all followed by delicious tea and cake here in Nether Stowey.

Supported by the Quantock Landscape Partnership Scheme (QLPS), a five-year Heritage Lottery funded scheme to enhance the landscape, natural environment and provide more opportunities for people to engage and enjoy the Quantocks and surrounding area. Walk leaders this year include members of the QLPS Team, Sedgemoor Ramblers, Friends of Coleridge, Somerset Wildlife Trust and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Steart Marshes.

Opening Hours

10am – 4pm

Pricing

All walks will start and finish at St Mary’s Church Centre, in the village of Nether Stowey. There is no charge for booking but walkers will be asked to make a voluntary donation on the festival weekend to support the work of Stowey Walking, helping to make the local area more walker friendly.
