Timsbury

Timsbury is an attractive village to visit in north east Somerset, surrounded by lovely rolling hills and valleys.

It is close to Bath (18mins.), Bristol, Frome, Wells and also to Midsomer Norton which Midsomer Murders is named after (not Midsummer Murders). By car it is on the B3115 and is 30 mins. from Bristol airport - set your Satnav to BA2 0HY. It is easy to park and there are bus services.

It has a good village pub, The Seven Stars, and other eating places such as Connies Tea Rooms & Bistro, accommodation and shops. It has many buildings of both architectural and historical interest. (photos of 7 stars Connies and High Street).

It is a good base to discover the Somerset countryside with lovely interesting walks including along the Cam river valley, and its wildlife and history with old buildings. (photo the square and the church)

There are lovely walks in the area which you can follow in our book. You can discover remains of early coal mining blended into the landscape, such as the Somersetshire Coal Canal.

It was home to the world famous Father of Geology, William Smith who lived in nearby Rugbourne Farm while he was surveying for the canal.
