Dogs on Beaches

Weston-super-Mare

Allowed between the Grand Pier and Knightstone Island; Royal Sands and Uphill at any time. Not allowed between the Grand Pier and Royal Sands from 1 May to 30 September or on the beach at Marine Lake at any time.

Sand Bay
Allowed at any time.

Clevedon
Not allowed at any time, except guide dogs.

Porlock
Porlock Shingle Ridge has no restrictions (except from the high tides !)

Minehead
The only beach in this area that has a restriction on dogs is the main Minehead beach
from 1st May to 30th September each year. No other beach in the West Somerset area has any such restriction.

Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow and Brean
Dogs are permitted at all times of the year on Berrow and Brean beaches. With regard to the beach at Burnham-on-Sea, from 1st May until 30th September dogs are not allowed on the one mile length of beach adjacent to the sea wall. From 1st October until 30th April the dog ban area is much shorter, being the length of beach between the jetty and the pavilion.
