The Octagon Theatre is owned and managed by South Somerset District Council. The venue offers a range of live events from ballet to comedy, opera, music and much more.
As well as presenting a vibrant performance programme the venue has a busy community participatory programme with classes in dance, music and drama as part of The Octagon Academy. The venue's auditorium has 622 seats and The Johnson Studio offers a meeting space for around 60 people. The venue welcomed 200,000 people in 2015/16 and the latest pantomime was seen by over 29,500 people.
The venue has a popular Bistro, Prelude, which is now operates an online booking system; Prelude is a wonderful way to start your evening at The Octagon with a delicious pre show meal in a relaxing atmosphere. The first floor gallery space also provides local groups and artists with a bright and spacious exhibition area.
The Octagon is currently running a Name A Seat campaign to replace all 622 seats in its auditorium – patrons and businesses are invited to buy a seat that they can name for perpetuity.
The Octagon Theatre works in partnership with the Yeovil Community Arts Association, Waterstones Yeovil and Yeovil Library to present the Yeovil Literary Festival annually - welcoming over 5,000 visitors in 2017. This year's festival takes please from Thursday 25 - Monday 29 October across The Octagon, The Manor Hotel, Yeovil Library and Brimsmore Garden Centre. Visiting The Octagon Theatre

The nearest train station is Yeovil Pen Mill, located just outside the town centre. The station has good links with Bristol, London and Weymouth as well as many smaller nearby towns.
