Wookey Hole Caves are some of the most beautiful caves in the world and house some amazing rock formations and stunning clear pools. Carved by the River Axe over millions of years and with thousands of years of human history this makes a truly magical and atmospheric venue for wedding ceremonies.
At Wookey Hole there are three chambers which are fully licensed for civil ceremonies, The Witch’s Kitchen, The Great Hall and The Witch’s Parlour. Each has its own qualities, such as the picturesque boat on the lake in Chamber 1, the vast height in the Great Hall which is where Chamber 2 gets its name, and the shallow dome of Chamber 3 which creates an intimate setting for small and large groups alike. The chosen chamber is lit with candles ready for the wedding ceremony and some of the chambers have coloured lights which can be changed to match the couples’ theme for their wedding. Only a handful of couples have chosen these beautiful caves for their ceremony and they remain one of the best kept secrets in Somerset and one of the few underground wedding venues in the world.
A booking at Wookey Hole includes exclusive use of the caves and valley, reception room hire and discounted rooms in the hotel for guests. Some of the attractions are also available to hire as extras, such as the Victorian Penny Arcade or Pirate Golf to add a fun activity to the celebrations.
The restaurant is a versatile space which can seat up to 200 people but is also suitable for much smaller parties, with ample space for music and dancing and also features an adjoining bar.
