Food & Drink in South Somerset

South Somerset

Somerset Farmers Market

Description

Established in 1999 as a not-for-profit organisation Somerset Farmers' Markets was set up to support and promote local farmers, food and drink producers and local towns. We aim to enhance town centres with vibrant markets providing customers with fresh, high-quality and traceable produce.

Somerset Farmers Market

Somerset Farmers’ Markets were born as an initiative to ‘act locally’ to prevent climate change by focusing on sustainable development. By supporting small scale farms and food production by encouraging shoppers to buy local, food miles are kept low minimising the negative impact on the environment. From medieval town squares to bustling high streets, each market has its own character and boasts a unique line up from our membership of over 100 hundred producers. Visitors enjoy the experience of talking directly to producers about food and drink, picking up recipe suggestions and storage tips.
We hold 8 markets across Somerset:

Burnham-on-Sea, Last Friday of the month, 9am - 1pm
