WHO WE ARE / WHAT WE DO
The Grand Pier, Weston super Mare, Somerset opened in 1904 and is situated ¼ mile out to sea. It is the ideal destination for non-stop indoor& outdoor family entertainment. The Pavilion is a truly iconic destination for: family days out, events, concerts, weddings, and corporate events.
With rides, attractions the latest arcade games, and traditional seaside treats a visit to the Pier is a must for adults & kids of all ages- WE HAVE IT ALL!!!!
There is no end to the fun and no limit to the magic which is why we need you.
To organise and book all events and entertainment on the Grand Pier; liaise with the delivery team to provide a truly exceptional experience for our guests.
ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor, review and evaluate the performance of your team and give leadership and motivation to ensure standards are achieved and event bookings are delivered to a high standard and with speed and accuracy.
To effectively communicate with suppliers and clients to ensure that all needs and requirements are met for the delivery of all events.
To report to the Operational Directors.
Monitor and set clear objectives for your team and review these KPI’s regularly
Actively consider prevention, recovery and investigation of any complaints
Ensure that health and safety, legal and operational standards are adhered to at all times
Negotiate the best rates possible for any third party suppliers
To ensure all standard checklists are used as prescribed
To consider efficiencies and improving standards and services
To undertake any other reasonable requests by your Line Manager, including assisting in the delivery of events or other attraction services should the need arise
To ensure that the annual writing of the Events and Entertainment programme
Ensuring the delivery of the entertainments programme
Ensure that all the team are fully trained in all platforms to record functions, events, and delivery. Financial controls to be your responsibility for payments of all events in accordance with terms and conditions of business.
Responsible for all events client databases
To ensure that the marketing and PR is scheduled for all events
Responsible for liaising with all departments on the Pier Regarding the delivery of events
Responsible for co-ordinating the events on the day
Responsible for all margin analysis and profit and to ensure that full financial controls are in place deliver a weekly report with sales tracked against budgets and previous year
Produce and review feasibilities for events in relation to new projects and new sites
To conduct monthly business reviews with the Operational Directors
EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive friendly demeanour
Able to be a change manager
A proven track record of sales
Drive and determination
An ability to work with others
Ability to identify and match our products with customer enquiries and the ability to view situations from a commercial or business perspective
Ability to persuade and influence others and to close enquiries by going the extra mile to provide the service
Excellent presentation and IT skills ( office packages such as Microsoft excel PowerPoint and word proficient ) and proficient across social media platforms
