Medieval history with steam nostalgia!

Get your train to Taunton and wind your way through the old market town of Somerset,  heading back in time 2000 years, to Roman times and languish for a while the official  state of art, Somerset Museum, reflecting Somerset’s history, which boasting possibly the oldest county in England.  You will then return to the nostalgic years of the 1930's and 1940's ring upon the UK's longest heritage railway. The easiest way to connect is getting a connecting train service from Taunton Station to, 'Bishops Lydeard', West Somerset Railway's starting  station. Then you’ll be taken back in one of the Englands oldest villages dating back to the 15th century at Dunster, where you will marvel in Medieval History from pubs to a castle and cobbled streets Dunster is a stunning unrivalled quintessentially English Village nestled between the Black Down Hills one of Somerset’s Areas of outstanding Natural Beauty and Somerset’s National Park Exmoor, with European dark Sky status.
