The Helicopter Museum is the largest dedicated Helicopter Collection in the World with over 100 helicopters on display in an all weather undercover hangar.
Exhibits include two of the Queen's Royal Flight helicopters, the current world speed record holder G-LYNX, a Vietnam Veteran Huey and a Russian Hind Gun Ship.

In addition to over 100 helicopters, the Helicopter Museum includes other breathtaking attractions like its WWII Pilots’ Block, Weston Aviation Exhibition and Blood Hound Missile. This all contributes to a fun day-out for all the family with plenty of opportunity to learn about these marvellous machines and their huge impact on Somerset’s history.
 
The museum hosts various special events throughout the year. These include various car shows, hair-rasing Halloween hilarity and festive Christmas events. The most popular of these special events are the World At War Weekend and Balloons, Birds & Bubbles.  At these events, the museum is completely transformed to provide visitors the opportunity to enjoy authentic military vehicles or hold a live owl!
 
Those who haven’t had their fill of aviation history can also attend one of the museum’s open cockpit days. Here visitors can climb into the pilot’s seat of a genuine helicopter and be taken through the controls by an experienced volunteer, many of whom have spent their careers flying such aircraft. Those who really want to feel the thrill of soaring high up in the clouds can even book their seat on one of the many helicopter experience flights the museum offers throughout the year.
 
After all that excitement, visitors can refuel in the museum’s new café which was opened as part of a new visitor service building in July 2020. It offers drinks, snacks and tasty lunches. A particular highlight is the pilots’ all-day breakfast that is big enough to satisfy even the hungriest aviation superfan!
