Weston-super-Mare’s seaside pleasures have been delighting visitors for centuries. Stroll along The Grand Pier’s boardwalk for superb views of Weston beach or head to its indoor theme park offering hundreds of attractions from traditional seaside coin-pushers to thrilling rides, children’s indoor play areas and a wealth of restaurants and cafés.

Between April and September, catch staggering creations at the Sand Sculpture Festival which has lead to Weston beach being named the “Sand Sculpting Capital” of the UK. Thrill-seeking children will love The Pirate Adventureland and Water Adventure Play Park whilst the 40-metre high Weston Wheel offers a perfect sit-down break to admire views stretching across the town, bay and Somerset countryside. 

Weston is rich in heritage and you can explore its past - from ancient times to days as a Victorian seaside resort - at Weston Museum. The town’s Helicopter Museum the largest in Europe and home to over 100 display helicopters, an unmissable attraction come rain or shine. The Winter Gardens, The Playhouse and The Blakehay Theatre offer a variety of entertainment for all ages ranging from opera and ballet to comedy and music. There’s plenty of choice for those looking to dine out with the town’s superb selection of restaurants, cafés and bars.

Weston is home to impressive large-scale annual events such as the Weston Air Festival, HydroGarden Beach Race and Weston Carnival. Nearby adventure parks, Puxton Park and Court Farm Country Park are perfect all-weather attractions for the whole family whilst Sand Bay boasts another long-stretching beach with attractive walking routes.

Road Directions

How to get to Weston-super-Mare

By car: Exit the M5 at Junction 21 and follow signs towards the town centre.

By train and bus: Trains run to Weston throughout the day on the main GWR line from London.

By air: Bristol Airport is 15 miles from Weston and buses run direct from the airport to the town centre throughout the day.

Exit Junction 21, follow signs for A370 then once on dual carriage way follow signs for Seafront. Carry along the Beach Road until you branch into the one way system and onto Marine Parade. Weston-super-Mare Tourist is just past the Grand Pier on the righthand side.

Public Transport Directions

Weston-super-Mare railway station is a short level walk away from the TIC. The town is also served by buses from places including Wells, Cheddar, Burnham, Clevedon and Bristol.
