Wookey Hole Managing Director moving on.
John Turner CEO of Visit Somerset has said, Daniel has been an incredible inspiration and support to me and Visit Somerset over many years and is one the main reasons that the DMO has flourished due to his unwavering support, guidance and mentoring of myself. I am delighted that Daniel will still be staying on as Vice chairman of Visit Somerset and look forward to working with Daniel soon on new plans that Daniel has, which I am sure will be hugely exciting for the county".

Daniel Medley has said, "Wow, what a couple of years it’s been, how the world has changed and, for us at Wookey Hole, the sad start to the year with the passing of Gerry, my business partner of over 18 years who was loved and admired and will be missed by all.

The next big change at Wookey Hole is I am leaving.  I shall be selling my shares and standing down as Managing Director in December; but don’t think you have seen the last of me - I still will be involved with tourism with a lodge park i am developing and i am always looking for new projects.

But what a blast we have had at Wookey Hole over the last 18 years; with blindly blowing a tunnel into the Mendip Hills to opening new caves, building hotels, 4D Cinema, Golf Course, play barns, holiday parks and crazy press stories that nearly got us arrested and much, much more.

But none of this would have been possible without your help and support. So, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for making the last 18 years such fun and helping me to put Wookey Hole on the map as a leading tourist destination and resort.

Don’t worry, Wookey Hole is in great hands with Sarah & Willie leading the way with lots of exciting plans".

Giles Adams Chair of Visit Somerset has said; " Daniel’s insight and guidance is second to none. We are extremely lucky to have benefitted from this at Visit Somerset and I am delighted that he intends to continue working with and supporting us as he progresses on to the next stage of his life and career. This follows an exceptional time at Wookey Hole and his close working relationship with Gerry Cottle. Their shared purpose delivered superb results and Visit Somerset is hugely thankful to the Wookey Hole team for continuing to provide our headquarters at this leading tourism attraction.
